All patient information is visible in the Patient Detail dialog (shown below). There are four gray button boxes located at the top. The two gray boxes on the left summarize the information that was entered when editing the personal information for this patient and the two on the right summarize the information that was entered when editing the patient information. If any of these boxes are selected with the mouse, the appropriate section is opened and data can been edited.
The area in the middle is the Tabs section. There are four tabs across the top that can be selected. These tabs display a table that lists items appropriate to the tab label. There is also a set of buttons on the right side of the table. These buttons enable operations that are pertinent to the Tab currently displayed.

The Add Related Person screen provides the option to create a new patient or
create a new guarantor either re-using the actual person TFM Database record from the
current patient or making a copy of it for easy modification. Note that it would not
make sense to create a new patient re-using the exact same person record. Two patients
can not be the same person. For this reason, if you select to make another patient,
the New Person radio button is not available. It would make sense, however,
to assign the current patient to also be a guarantor. If Guarantor is selected, the
exact same person can be used or a new person record can be created with information
copied from the current patient.
John E. Patient is bringing in his son, Kurt, as a new patient. To simplify the process of entering the personal information such as address, phone..., first open the Patient Detail screen for John E. Patient and select the Add Related Person button. This will open a new patient detail screen with most of the personal information already copied from the personal information from John E. Patient. Only the fields that are different between the father and son need to be modified.
TFM requires all of the patient information and all of the Guarantor information. If they are the same then enter the personal information only once and use it for both patient and guarantor. Create and new patient, John E. Patient, and enter all the information. Since John is providing his own coverage, entering his coverage information can be simplified by copying his personal information from his patient information. In the Patient Detail screen select the Add Related Person button. Since the patient and guarantor are the same person, no fields need to be modified in the coverage personal information.
Start by viewing a Patient Detail screen for example patient John E. Patient. John's wife is now going to provide his coverage. She has never been defined in TFM. Rather than re-entering all of the personal information for his wife, the Add Related Person button should be used to create a new guarantor. Only the fields that are different between the two need to be modified.
