The procedure edit dialog provides the mechanisms for adding one or more procedures and their details to an encounter. The different parts of this dialog are documented in the following sections:
| Current Procedure  | Dialog Buttons  | Procedure Detail 1  | Procedure Detail 2  | Procedure Detail 3  |

The procedure edit dialog is divided into three vertical sections:
Each of these sections are documented below:
The Current Information" displays all of the details of a procedure
in three non-editable groups of information. These three groups are the same three
groups found in the Procedure Details dialog.
This part of the dialog serves two purposes. First, it presents all of the current information about the procedure. Second, it is one of the navigation mechanisms for selecting the information that is to be edited.
Each of group of information is selectable with the mouse. When a group is selected it turns a darker gray and the middle section of the dialog changes its fields to match the selected procedure information.
The four dialog buttons do the following:
On completion of the save to the database, the edit dialog clears all fields and allows you to enter a new procedure. If you are finished entering procedures for this encounter, select the Cancel button.
The middle section of the dialog is used to edit the procedure details. The editing of the details is broken up into three groups each defined below.
If the first group of procedure details is selected under the Current
Information, shown in gray at the right, then the edit fields of the Procedure
Detail section match the selection. (shown at the far right)
All of the fields are selectable fields called popup fields. The list of available selections can be long. If you know something about the desired selection, there is a quick selection mechanism. Select the popup. This causes the list to appear. Type some characters and/or numbers that might match the desired selection. The first match appears when you select the "return" on the keyboard. Each successive "return" will bring up the next match. Keep hitting "return" until your desired selection appears.
Note: the search is case sensitive which means capitalized letters will not match lower case letters. To simplify what you have to remember for creating the search string, you could make all configured data capitalized then you only have to type capitalized letters for search patterns.
There are four parts to this group of fields:
If the second group of procedure details is selected under the Current
Information, shown in gray at the right, then the edit fields of the Procedure
Detail section match the selection. (shown at the far right)
The optional information that can be entered in this section is:
If the third group of procedure details is selected under the Current
Information, shown in gray at the right, then the edit fields of the Procedure
Detail section match the selection. (shown at the far right)
The optional information that can be entered in this section is:
