Configure Procedures

The Toolbar has several menus. One of the menus is labeled Configuration. If you select this menu, select one of the options labeled Procedure Codes to create, modify and remove procedures that are used in your practice. There are two dialogs associated with this configuration:

The image to the right is an example of the dialog that appears when you select the Procedure Codes in the Configuration menu. There are several pieces of information displayed in this dialog.

• Listed Procedure Codes - across the top of the table of procedures is the number of procedures that have been configured for the practice. In the example, there are 203 procedures defined.


• Procedure Table - contains a list of all the procedures that have been added to TFM to support your practice. A single click with the mouse on an entry in the table will highlight it. In the example to the right, procedure code 11401 is highlighted (yellow). A double click of an item in the table will open the edit dialog (see the next sections).

  There are three fields in the table:

• Code - is the CPT code you entered
• Description - is the description of the CPT code
• Charge - is the charge your office charges for the procedure. When a procedure is added to an encounter, the charge from this table is automatically added to the encounter.


• Search Table - is a mechanism for searching for a particular procedure in the table. First, type in a string of characters into the search Criteria field. Second, select the Find button. The procedure table will scroll to a procedure with the first match to the criteria. The Find button will change to the Find Again button allowing you to search for the next match.


• Buttons - there are several control buttons
• New - create a new procedure
• Delete - delete the selected procedure in the table
• Re-Do - not used here
• Close - close the dialog
• Select - open an edit dialog (see next section) with the currently selected procedure inserted in into it for modification. This is the same as a double click of a row in the table.

Edit Procedure

The Edit Procedure Code dialog is used to create new procedures as well as editing existing procedures. Refer to Edit Procedure Code for details on this process.
