Encounter Details Edit

The Encounter Details Edit dialog is used to capture the details about the encounter. There are three characteristics of an encounter that uniquely identify an Encounter and TFM requires these fields to be set before entering the other Encounter information.

  1. the patient
  2. the provider
  3. the date of the encounter
These three fields are found across the top of the Encounter dialogs, and can only modified by in the Encounter Details Edit dialog. (shown at the right)

There are three ways to access this dialog.

  1. select the New button under Encounter in the main toolbar.
  2. select the Details button in the Encounter Summary dialog. (see below)
  3. select the New button in the Patient Details tab section when the Encounter tab is selected

Encounter Details Note

There is also a Note field that is free form text entry. The note field gives you a place to enter any information you choose to enter that might relate to the specific encounter.

If the Save button is selected and the Scheduler has been licensed in this version of TreFre Medical, the user is provided the option to mark any of the patient's appointments as closed. If there was an appointment created on the same date as the encounter date, for convenience, that appointment is automatically marked as closed, saved to the TFM database, and this dialog is not displayed. Otherwise, all of the patient's appointments are listed and displayed in a pulldown list for selection. The following dialog displays the appointment list:
